What I collect
Festival Food Finder has no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no comments. I don't ask for your name or email, and the site doesn't collect them.
When you visit the site
The site runs through Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare and the server record each request: your IP address, your browser, the page you asked for, and the time. These logs keep the site secure and fast. I don't use them to track you. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views and measures how fast pages load. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see which pages people read, so I know what to improve. It runs only if you accept analytical cookies in the cookie banner. If you decline, or never answer, Google Analytics doesn't run.
When it runs, Google Analytics records:
- The pages you view and how long you stay
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Your approximate location, to the city level
- Your device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address. I can't see who you are in it, only totals like "500 people read the Food & Wine menu today." I keep this data for 14 months.
The analytics script loads from this site's own address through Cloudflare, but the data still goes to Google. Google handles it as a service provider for this site. I've turned off the settings that share it with Google for Google's own products, link it to Google accounts, or use it for ads. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The cookie policy lists each cookie and how to change your choice.
Ads
The site shows no ads. If that changes, this policy will change first.
Instagram and Facebook
Festival Food Finder has pages on Instagram and Facebook. Meta runs those sites under Meta's privacy policy. This site only links to them. It doesn't load anything from Meta, so Meta doesn't see your visit here.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Your choices and deleting your data
You can change your cookie choice at any time with the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner. Declining analytics stops Google Analytics from collecting anything more. Clearing your browser's cookies removes the ones already set.
Since Google Analytics doesn't tell me who you are, I can't look up your visits in it. If you have a question about your data, send me a message on the Festival Food Finder Facebook page.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top changes too.
